   This is a beautiful example of an early 20th century box compass manufactured by the Marine Compass Company of Pembroke Massachusetts. Originally an oil filled compass, it no longer will hold oil, which makes it not usable aboard a boat, but it makes a great display piece! The mahogany box is in original condition with some scratches and a crack in the lid. The brass has been polished and is in great shape.
