ser14987 7" Ritchie CompassThis 7" Ritchie compass was brought to us by the Virginia Heritage Foundation when they were building the Schooner Virginia. They were looking to have this antique compass restored to be made like new. We performed a complete restoration so this compass could be used as the main compass aboard the Virginia. ser34441 Antique 7" Ritchie Compass 14987 7 Inch Ritchie 19654 7 " RitchieThis compass was recovered from a shipwreck in Cape Cod Bay, it was brought to us in very sad shape having spent many years at the bottom of the ocean. We were able to carefully resore it to complete working condition. The serial number indicates that it was manufactured and sold to Riggs & Brothers on July 27 1897. 23211 7 " Ritchie Compass RestorationThis compass was recovered from the wreck of the "Caribe Sea" a 261 ft freighter sunk by a German U-Boat off of Cape Lookout, North Carolina. The compass came to us missing most of the internal parts. We restored it using parts from compasses of a similar era. The serial number indicates that it was manufactured and sold to the Upson Walton Co. of Cleveland Ohio on July 7 1919. 54703
