The antique compasses on this page are compasses that have recently been restored in our compass shop.
Before we begin any compass restoration we carefully evaluate the compass in order to offer to the customer an array of options as to how to best proceed with the compass. In some cases we repair the compass to make it a working compass without regard to cosmetics. In other cases the customer may prefer to do a complete restoration. In that case, using the same tools and methods that were used in the manufacturing process we disassemble the compass and re-machine and re-paint the components to bring the compass back to its original condition. Each example of restoration on this page is accompanied by a desription of the type of compass it is as well as what type of restoration was performed.
